Mother of the Year award as we all know is given to a mother who supports, stands at your side, and most of all accepts you for who you want to be. We all have real mothers, or in some cases, mother figures. In the past we have always recognized a mother or mothers that have dedicated their time and dedication to Miss Florida Pageant thru thick and Thin. We have started the mother of the year award in 1998, presented to Madear Areagus, mother of
Tiffany Areagus (Miss Florida 1978).

Last year the Miss Florida family had loss a loyal supporter and fan of female illusion. On August 4th 2006 the beloved mother of Tiffany Areagus, Madear had passed away. Madear was a loyal supporter of the Miss Florida Pagenat since she first witnessed our former 1978 son/daughter Miss Tiffany Areagus
